Integral Aviation Solutions Boeing 777 in navy and gold livery — BBJ and ACJ specifications

✈ Completion Consultant Reference

BBJ & ACJ Cabin Specifications
A Completion Advisor’s Perspective

Every VIP completion programme begins with the airframe. Understanding the precise cabin envelope — length, width, height, floor area, and structural constraints — is the foundation of every interior design brief, every STC submission, and every budget projection. This reference compiles cabin and range data for all 15 Boeing BBJ and Airbus ACJ platforms as viewed by completion consultants who have managed these programmes from green airframe acceptance through delivery.

Why cabin dimensions matter in completion advisory: Floor area determines zone layouts. Ceiling height dictates credenza and wardrobe feasibility. Frame positions govern bulkhead placement and galley footprints. Knowing these constraints before a single design line is drawn prevents costly change orders at the completion centre. BBJ & ACJ Range From New York City

Range determines mission requirements — and mission requirements determine your completion specification. A 20,000 km route demands triple the galley volume of a 6,000 km regional hop, larger water capacity, more extensive cabin management systems, and a fundamentally different sleeping accommodation strategy. Use this chart to understand each aircraft’s operational envelope, then speak with our advisors about what that means for your interior brief.

Our advisors have managed BBJ and ACJ completion programmes across four continents. The conversation starts with the aircraft’s intended routes — every other decision flows from there.

How Specifications Inform the Completion Brief

What the Numbers Actually Mean

Cabin Length & Zone Count

Cabin length determines how many functional zones a layout can accommodate. A BBJ 1 at 14.7 m supports three zones. A BBJ 787-9 at 42.1 m supports seven or more. Every additional metre introduces structural framing decisions that affect bulkhead placement, furniture attachment points, and STC certification scope — all factors a completion consultant must account for before design drawings begin.

Cabin Width & Lateral Flexibility

The ACJ fuselage provides 22 cm more internal width than the equivalent Boeing narrowbody — enough to substantially change seat pitch equations, permit wider credenzas, or enable a walk-around-bed stateroom that is geometrically difficult on the BBJ narrowbody platform. This is not a preference issue; it is a structural reality that should inform platform selection before acquisition commits.

Floor Area & Budget Projection

Completion costs scale with floor area, but not linearly. A widebody with 271 m² (ACJ350) requires structural engineering, STC coordination, and materials procurement on a fundamentally different scale from a narrowbody at 57 m². Our pre-completion budget advisory accounts for these non-linear relationships before any completion centre contract is signed.

Range & Galley Infrastructure

A 20,000 km mission requires approximately three times the catering volume, water capacity, and waste management infrastructure of a 6,000 km route. A completion consultant who has not asked about intended routes before drafting a galley footprint has not yet started the job. Range is always the first conversation.
